Exterior Painting Contractor

What does an exterior painting contractor do?

EcoStar Remodeling & Construction is an exterior painting contractor for homes in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and our other California offices: stucco, siding, trim, doors, fences and garage doors. As a licensed general contractor (CSLB 1034806), we repair what we find before we paint. Exterior painting contractors are easy to find. However, finding the right one can be a behemoth task if you don’t know what you are looking for. Request a free estimate.

What does a new exterior paint job change?

A new coat refreshes faded or peeling walls and trim and makes the house stand out on the street.

It is also a chance to change the look: a new body color, a contrasting trim or a fresh front door color.

Whether you have an idea of what shades of color you want or would prefer for us to help, we have you covered.

Exterior paint fails early when it goes over dirt, chalky old paint or loose flakes, so most of the work is prep: washing, scraping, sanding, caulking gaps and priming bare wood or patched stucco.

We protect windows, roofs, plants and walkways while we work and clean up at the end of each day.

How long does exterior paint last?

Paint is more than a color: it seals stucco and wood against sun and rain.

A quality paint job reduces damage due to the elements. You can expect our paint to last between five to seven years.

Even if the paint still looks good, plan the next coat around that time. Since paint is porous, you should always stay on top of your repainting schedule to prevent any damage to your home.

Paint keeps wood from rotting and lowers the risk of mold, which helps you avoid larger repair bills later.

Does your HOA have paint rules?

Many homeowners associations set approved colors and ask owners to redo peeling or faded paint.

A warning letter can turn into a fine if the house is not repainted, so check your HOA’s color list before you choose; we work from it.

Does exterior painting help when you sell?

A freshly painted house looks more attractive than one with old and peeled paint. Neutral colors are a safe choice for a sale. Ideally, you should choose no more than three exterior shades of color.

Better curb appeal helps a listing catch a buyer’s attention.

What hidden damage can painting reveal?

Up close, our painters see what is not visible from the street: dry rot in trim, cracked stucco, gaps around windows and failed caulking. Fixing it during the paint job costs less than waiting until it spreads.

We repair the damage before painting, and when it is larger, we replace the boards with new siding. Hidden damage is one of the leading causes of mold growth and untraceable leaks in the house.
