A new driveway can add appeal when you sell. A new driveway is attractive to potential buyers because it looks good, and it will last long.
Most buyers are concerned about the potential cost of repairs when purchasing a house. Since a driveway can last up to 25 years, buyers will prefer buying your property and even paying extra for it compared to other houses on the block.
The majority of buyers want convenience and property that doesn’t require extensive repairs that will add to the cost of owning the property. A new driveway also leaves buyers one less repair to price in.
Looks matter too: patches on concrete rarely match the old surface, so a repaired driveway often shows where it was fixed.

An inexperienced driveway contractor can do more harm than good. One of the most common faults inexperienced contractors make is while making the slope of the driveway. Faults like these prevent water from effectively draining from the driveway and can cause erosion of the ground, leading to potholes and cracks.
Making a driveway may seem easy; however, it requires skill, patience, and experience. We set the slope before the base goes in, so water runs off toward the street or a drain.
There are two things we consider while conducting driveway replacements. If your driveway is less than 10 years old, you should probably repair it. However, if it has extensive damage, you should replace it, regardless of its age. Wide or spreading cracks, sunken or heaved slabs and water that pools after rain point to a failing base, which a surface repair will not fix.
Due to extensive surface damage, the layers under the driveway often get damaged. Once this happens, it is only a matter of time until the remaining driveway falls apart. While it might be tempting to repair it, repeated patches over a failed base can cost more over time than a replacement.

1. Removal and grading. We break out the old surface, haul it away and grade the soil so the finished driveway slopes away from the house and toward the street or a drain. 2. Base. A compacted gravel base carries the load and keeps the slab or pavers from settling. 3. Forms and reinforcement. For concrete, we set forms and steel reinforcement and plan control joints; for pavers, edge restraints and a sand bed.
4. Pour or lay. Concrete is poured, finished (broom, stamped or exposed aggregate) and left to cure before you drive on it; pavers are laid, cut, compacted and joint-sanded. 5. Clean-up. We clean the site and walk the finished driveway with you.
Size and material come first: concrete, stamped or colored concrete, pavers or asphalt. Then the removal and haul-away of the old driveway, how much grading and base the soil needs, drainage work such as a trench drain, a new or wider curb cut and apron, and access for equipment. We price each line in a written estimate.

Pavers are laid one by one, and single units can be lifted and replaced, and they let some water through the joints. Asphalt is quicker to install and needs sealing over time. Work on your own lot often needs only a building or grading review, but a new or wider curb cut and the apron across the sidewalk sit in the public right of way, so most cities require a separate permit for them. We check with your city and pull what the job needs.
