EcoStar Remodeling & Construction is a bathroom remodeling contractor for homeowners in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and our other California offices. As a licensed general contractor (CSLB 1034806), we handle design, permits and construction under one contract, from a new vanity to a full walk-in shower.
Every bathroom remodel runs in the same order: an appointment, a site visit, a plan you approve, then the build, with one team from the first call to the final inspection.
1. Booking a Bathroom Remodeling Appointment
The first step of the process is booking an appointment with us. You can call us at (818) 918-2210 or send us an email to book a bathroom remodeling services appointment. On that call we ask what bothers you about the room today and what you want from it, so the site visit starts with a clear brief.
4. Execution
After you approve the plan, our crew builds it: demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, waterproofing, tile, fixtures and finishes. Our team has years of training and experience to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the final result.
Our crews protect floors and nearby rooms, open walls only where the plan calls for it, and check the framing and subfloor before new tile goes down.
We keep the work area sealed off and clean so the rest of the house stays usable.
Those who live in a house for several years get used to the structural problems it has. However, it would help if you remodeled your bathroom when the need arises; otherwise, you might spend more on repairs for the whole house. Here are some signs that you need bathroom remodeling services:
You’re Selling Your Home
Buyers open the bathroom door on every showing. A dated or damaged bathroom is an easy reason to offer less, while a clean, current one supports your asking price.
Before listing, we focus on what buyers see and inspectors check: tile and grout, the vanity, lighting, ventilation, and any leak or soft floor.
Old Design
Colored fixtures, small tiles with dark grout and a single dim light date a bathroom quickly. New tile, a modern vanity and layered lighting change the room without moving the plumbing.
Older bathrooms often have high tub walls, slick floors and no grab bars, which make falls more likely as you get older.
A low-entry shower, slip-resistant tile, blocking in the walls for grab bars and brighter lighting make the room safer for everyone in the house.
2. Site Visit
On the site visit, at a time that suits you, we inspect the room and note anything that has to be fixed before the new finishes go in:
We will discuss the project’s scope with you and help you with things for which you need guidance.
3. Planning
After the visit we confirm what the room allows: where the drains and vents can go, what the framing will carry and what needs a permit.
We make a plan with you about the design and features we will integrate into the renovated bathroom. If you have an idea of what you are looking for, you have access to several designs, colors, and material options to choose from.
You approve the final plan and the price before demolition starts.
While Buying a New Home
A fixer-upper often hides old plumbing, a failing shower pan or water damage under the floor. We inspect the bathroom early so the repair and the remodel are priced together.
Efficiency
New toilets, showerheads and faucets use less water than the fixtures they replace, which lowers the water bill every month.
Cracks
Cracked tile, loose grout or a soft spot in the floor lets water reach the subfloor and framing. Fixing it early keeps a repair from turning into a rebuild.

A walk-in shower replaces a tub or an old stall with a low or curbless entry and a fixed glass panel, or no door at all. In a small bathroom it frees floor space and makes the room easier to use as you get older; a linear drain lets the floor slope one way, so the tile reads as one clean surface and a bench or niche fits where a tub used to be.
A wet room goes one step further: the whole floor is waterproofed and sloped to the drain, so the shower is open to the rest of the room. It suits small and accessible bathrooms, but it needs a waterproofing membrane across the floor and up the walls, careful drain placement and strong ventilation, because more of the room gets wet. We look at your floor framing and drain location before we recommend either one.
Porcelain tile is dense and takes up very little water, so it is the usual pick for shower floors and walls; natural stone looks rich but needs sealing. Behind the tile, a waterproofing membrane or cement backer board, not plain drywall, protects the framing. Quartz vanity tops resist stains, and an exhaust fan sized to the room clears the moisture that otherwise feeds mold. Our guide to the best moisture-resistant bathroom materials compares the options in more depth.
The layout is the first driver: keeping the toilet, shower and vanity where they are keeps plumbing work small, while moving a drain or turning a tub into a walk-in shower adds rough-in work. Then come the tile area and type, the vanity and fixtures, glass, lighting and fan wiring, and any water damage we find under the old floor or behind the walls. Each line is priced in your estimate, and our remodeling financing options can spread the cost.
If you plan to sell, buyers and their inspectors look at the bathroom closely: sound tile and grout, a good vanity, bright lighting and working ventilation protect resale value and home value without luxury finishes. If you plan to stay, spend on what you use every day, such as a larger shower, storage and quiet, water-saving fixtures.
Replacing a vanity, tile and fixtures in place is the lightest scope. Moving plumbing, adding a circuit or an exhaust fan, or changing a wall or window needs a building permit in most cities. In the City of Los Angeles, plan check and permits go through the Department of Building and Safety (LADBS); in the Bay Area, each city's permit center, such as Alameda, San Jose or Concord, reviews the work. New lighting is also checked against the California Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). We prepare the drawings, file them and book the inspections.
Our crews work out of offices across California. In Northern California, see our Bay Area remodeling offices in Alameda, Concord, San Jose and San Mateo, plus Sacramento; in Southern California, our Los Angeles general contractor page covers Encino, Long Beach, Irvine and Rancho Cucamonga. We will absolutely help you attain permits for your project. You can rely on us to work with the local government to ensure we have the green light to move forward with our plans.
Unfortunately, we can’t give you a specific number without knowing more about your project. The price depends on the size of the bathroom, whether fixtures move, the tile and fixtures you pick and what we find under the old floor; you get a line-by-line estimate after our walkthrough.
Yes. We remove the tub, reset the drain, waterproof the floor and walls, and tile a low or curbless shower with a glass panel or an open entry.
A bathroom where the whole floor is waterproofed and sloped to one drain, so the shower is open to the room with no tray or curb. It needs full waterproofing and strong ventilation.
If the work moves plumbing, adds a circuit or fan, or changes a wall or window, most California cities require a building permit. We prepare the drawings, file them with your city and schedule the inspections.
