# Residential Electrical Contractor

## What does a residential electrical contractor do?

EcoStar Remodeling & Construction is a residential electrical contractor for homes in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and our other California offices. As a licensed general contractor (CSLB 1034806), we handle panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits and lighting, from the permit to the final inspection.

Typical jobs include replacing an old or undersized panel, rewiring homes that still have knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, adding outlets and dedicated circuits for kitchens, home offices and EV chargers, GFCI and AFCI protection, and LED lighting. We also do the electrical work inside our remodeling projects.

It starts with a free estimate, where we look at the panel, the wiring and what you want to add. [Request a free electrical estimate](https://ecosremodeling.com/free-quote/).

## Why hire a licensed electrical contractor?

Hiring a licensed electrical contractor in Los Angeles is essential because electrical work is complex and carries serious safety risks if handled improperly. Many homes in Los Angeles were built decades ago and may still rely on outdated wiring or undersized electrical panels. Older homes across the Bay Area face the same limits as loads grow, from induction ranges to EV chargers. We size the panel and circuits for the load, pull the permit and schedule the inspection, so the work is on record. Ultimately, working with a licensed electrical contractor provides peace of mind. Our work is backed by a 2-year workmanship warranty.

## What are the signs you need electrical repairs or upgrades?

- One of the most common signs is frequent circuit breaker trips. Flickering or dimming lights and power strips in every room are others, and outlets that feel warm, smell burnt or look discolored need attention right away.Knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring in an older home, a panel with no room for new breakers, and a planned remodel or EV charger are also reasons to have the system checked before you add more load.

## How does an electrical upgrade project run?

- **1. Estimate.** We inspect the panel and wiring and list what needs to change. **2. Plan.** We size the panel and circuits for your current and planned loads. **3. Permit.** We file the electrical permit with your city. **4. Work.** Our crew upgrades the panel, runs new wiring and installs the devices, with the power off only as long as needed. **5. Inspection.** The city inspector signs off and we walk you through the changes.

One of the most important upgrades is a new electrical panel. It makes room for new circuits, and with GFCI and AFCI protection it helps prevent shocks and electrical fires.
